Hello and welcome to the SSI Heralds coverage of the SSI May 2023 Elections! Candidate and Party registration closed on the 20th of May (the announcement of which was delayed) and now his time for the parties to advertize themselves. The parties that are running for the elections are as follows:

Union Party: The current de facto government, the Union Party, as the name suggests, strives to unify the islands by making transportation systems to allow easier travel between the islands, infrastructure projects to make sure that each island has the ability to sustain residents, and conservation of the local fauna and flora. The Party's candidate for president is McTwoPoint0, and their candidate for vice president is EntityM.

SSI Democrats: The opposition to the current government, not much is known about the democrats' policies due to TheAllSeeingBird (the parties head) not releasing much information. From what we do know and speculate, they plan to make the country more democratic and make more automatic farms. The parties only candidate is, as previously mentioned, TheAllSeeingBird, who is running for president.

Only time will tell who is going to win the elections, but in the meantime we wish both parties luck and look forward to reporting further on the May 2023 SSI Elections!
